Hello Biblicalapedia Editors and Viewers. I wanted to post this message in case you weren't all aware of what is going with references and reference lists. Due to a recent security issue with Wikia, many custom scripting options have been in the meantime shutdown. This means that on some articles verse lists won't display and I cannot update this.
Ironically this occured the day we decided to switch over from our custom referencing option, to the reftagger, which does all the verse linking, allows you to view the verse without leaving the page, and can even be designed to fit our site without need to complex code change.
We are also hoping to change the label of "References" and "Reference List" on the dropdown from the editor interface to "Verses". This will also be in done with changing all the "References" headings to "Verses". This is done mainly on the emphasis that the Bible is going to be the ultimate source for all our content. This also allows us not to endorse any version, and allows verse format to be standardized throughout articles.
While we are not against extra-biblical sources, we have currently not have had enough material that requires citation outside of the Bible. Also since the Bible is inspired by God we know we can trust that as a source more than any other source. If in time we allow other sources to be cited we will clearly mark them as secondary compared to verses.
When we are able to implement reftagger on the site this thread will be closed and replace with another one, or a blogpost to explain it in more detail.
Thanks for your patience,
