Hello Bible Wiki community! Today I have a proposal that could affect both elements of the web interface and our phrasing in our own promotional efforts.
I would like to propose rephrasing instances of "Editors" to "Writers". Rather than there being an "Edit" button, it could be changed to a "Write" button. The "Editors" could be renamed to "Writers". All other instances referring to "Editors" or "Edit" could be changed to "Writers" and "Write" respectively. The same applies to "Contribute".
I believe saying "Write" sounds more lightweight and sounds less obligatory than "editors". An "Editor" sounds like one someone who has a full dedication and commitment to managing the editorial aspects of content. We certainly love to have "dedicated editors", but based on our needs (and what we are looking for in "contributors) lighter weight "writing" may be more appealing than "editing".
We are looking for people to "Write about the Word of God".
In some places the phrase "Write" is already being used informally. I would like to suggest changing all "Edit" and "Contribute" to "Writing" to suggest a lighter weight role that is focused on writing articles on Biblical content.
Let me know what you all think below and if there is enough support I will move this forward through hosting approval.
NOTE: This applies only to articles and our own promotional material. This would not apply (unless it is determined it should) to misc "edit" buttons on other aspects of the interface"
