Abia is found in the Old Testament

The name Abia (sometimes called Abijah, Abijam[1] or even Abiah[2]) refers to the head of the eighth of the twenty-four courses into which David divided the priests.[3]


Abia comes from a Hebrew phrase that means "My Father is the LORD".
