Derbe was a city to which Paul and Barnabas traveled during their missionary journeys. It was the hometown of Timothy, a companion of Paul and pastor of the church at Ephesus. Located in the Roman province of Galatia in Asia Minor (modern Turkey).
It was about 100 miles northwest of Tarsus in neighboring Cilicia on the other side of the coastal mountains. The town served as a place of refuge, and as the terminus of Paul's first missionary journey.
